At Ai², high schoolers pursue a rigorous, competency-based program designed for mastery, independence, and real-world application. Each year combines core academics, Ventures, and apprenticeships to prepare young people for both college and career.
Full-year core courses integrating classic works of literature, analytical and persuasive writing, research, and public presentation. Frequent Socratic seminars support deep reading and literacy.
Literature & Writing (2025–26)
Read Deeply. Write Boldly. Speak with Purpose.
At Ai², Literature & Writing isn’t about worksheets or grammar drills—it’s about encountering great works, wrestling with ideas, and finding your own voice.
In this yearlong learning experience, learners explore classics, poetry, plays, and essays that have shaped human thought across time. Through reading, daily discussion, and writing practice, they sharpen both their understanding of literature and their ability to communicate with clarity and conviction.
We dive into questions of:
Identity: What makes a voice authentic?
Justice: How does literature reflect or challenge society?
Expression: What makes words powerful?
Imagination: How do stories shape the way we see the world?
Writing is a daily craft here. Learners share their ideas and drafts with peers each day, giving and receiving feedback that strengthens both their writing and their confidence. Every piece goes through a cycle of discussion, revision, and reflection—preparing learners to share their work with real audiences.
What makes this course different:
Integrated with our Ventures and humanities themes
Combines classic texts with student voice and choice
Daily practice in writing, discussion, and peer feedback
Builds skills in analysis, argument, and storytelling
Centers public presentations and publication opportunities
Learners produce a portfolio of meaningful written and spoken work
Our goal? To equip young people with the tools to think critically, write powerfully, and speak confidently—skills that open doors for a lifetime.

🌍 World History (2025-26)
Understand the Past. Engage the Present. Shape the Future.
At Ai², World History isn’t just about dates and empires—it’s about ideas, stories, and the forces that shape civilizations and people.
In this yearlong course, learners journey across time and place—from ancient river valleys to revolutionary movements and modern global change. Along the way, they explore foundational texts, ask bold questions, and uncover how history still lives in our world today.
We look at moments of:
Invention: How did trade and technology shape empires?
Revolution: When do people rise up to demand change?
Resistance: What do justice and courage look like in action?
Transformation: How do ideas spread—and how do they stick?
Through primary sources, classic literature, real-world research, and Socratic discussion, learners don’t just study history—they interpret it, question it, and apply it. They also write deeply and often, combining evidence and creativity to produce arguments, stories, timelines, and reflections.
What makes this course different:
Integrated with our Ventures and global themes
Combines history, civics, philosophy, and culture
Encourages debate, creativity, and voice
